All-in-one coworking platform, or stitch together separate tools?

Trying to decide between a single management platform that handles members, billing, booking and access, versus combining best-of-breed tools (separate booking, Stripe for payments, a standalone access system, WhatsApp for comms). What are the real trade-offs in cost, integrations breaking, and day-to-day admin once a space is actually running?

  1. It mostly comes down to where you want the complexity. Separate tools can look cheaper and more flexible at first, but once the space is running, the hidden cost is usually more admin, more maintenance, and more things breaking between systems. When bookings, payments, access, and member data don’t stay perfectly in sync, the team feels it fast. An all-in-one platform may be a bit less flexible, but it usually wins on simplicity, reliability, and day-to-day efficiency. For most operators, that becomes more valuable as they grow.
